Veiled Chameleon Humidity
When considering an veiled chameleon for sale, be sure to only purchase captive bred veiled chameleons geckos for sale from an experienced veiled chameleon breeder.
Humidity
Humidity should be around 65-75% during the day, and then dry out at night, so it is similar to the natural chameleon humidity in their natural environment. Using a misting system is key. Live plants help, but silk synthetic chameleon plants also can be beneficial as their leaves can retain water and raise the ambient humidity for hours after each misting occurs.
We recommend the mist king for a chameleon misting system. For ventilation, screen enclosures are a blessing, but they can be a curse for humidity. Your home’s conditions will set the stage for the climate in your chameleon’s cage. To maintain an ideal micro-climate, you must be cognizant of your location. Screen is perfect in humid environments, but in arid areas, glass may be a better option. With less exposure to air outside the cage, it is easier to manipulate the humidity levels inside these little cubes.
